The Etrade login procedure is unique, in the sense that you don’t have to load a special ‘login page’ to log onto the E-Trade website. Rather, the way the whole thing works is such that you just log into etrade.com from the home page. You see, right on the home page (at either us.etrade.com or global.etrade.com), there is a section, on the top right corner, where you enter your User ID and Password, and then click onto the ‘Log On’ button. That is what logging into etrade.com entails. By the way, the text boxes through which the User ID and Password can be entered, as well as the ‘Log On’ button are ‘persistent’ throughout the site (in all pages), so long as you are not logged in. This means that you can log in from any page, and not just the home page. Whatever page you happen to be in within etrade.com, you just have to look at the top right corner, and you will find those textboxes and the ‘log on’ button, through which you can log into the site/platform.

Secure log in
You needn’t worry as to whether the login credentials entered through the etrade.com home page are transmitted securely. That is because the entire etrade.com website is actually served through a secure connection, with all URLs being preceded by ‘https.’ There are two implications there: firstly that the login credentials you enter into the Etrade login page will be properly encrypted before electronic transmission over the network and secondly that the login credentials you enter into Etrade login page will be transmitted securely. By the way, the fact that the etrade.com website is wholly served through a https connection shouldn’t make you worry about performance and speed issues. Although it is true that ‘https’ is usually slower than ‘http’, the folks behind etrade.com have optimized it in such a way that that the difference is not noticeable.
Etrade login options
Upon entering your User ID and Password and clicking on the ‘log on’ button, a small pop-up form will emerge, where you can specify where, within the wider etrade.com ecology, you want to be started, once logged in. If, for instance, you want to access the Etrade 360 platform dashboard, you specify that through this form. If you want to access bank account, active trading, markets or any other etrade.com feature, you specify through the form. If you want to be served in Chinese, you can also specify that through this form.
if you forgot your etrade.com login credentials, you just need to click on the ‘forgot user ID or password’ link (which is preceded by a secure padlock sign) in the Etrade login options form. Then you will be taken through an elaborate Etrade.com login credential recovery procedure.
